Constrast.

Today, we learnt about the power of CONTRAST without Miss Chia's voice. At first, I thought that it was hard. But I found out that it was simple. It can even be used in composition. How useful! Here's a poem...
IF THERE IS NO DARKNESS, THERE WILL BE NO LIGHT.
IF THERE IS NO TEACHER, THERE WILL BE NO STUDENTS.
IF THERE IS NO WRIGHT BROTHERS, THERE WILL BE NO AEROPLANES.
IF THERE IS NO YOU, THERE WILL BE NO ME.
Haha.
This knowledge can impact my life by making me do well in compositions. Not to forget expressing what you are trying to say by drawing a picture. Art can convey very strong messages! Look at how powerful the power of contrast is!!!!!!!!!

The day Miss Chia Lost her VOICE

Today, my english teacher, Miss Chia lost her voice. Please return her voice to her if you have seen it. Because she had no voice, she used "living microphones" named Kamini and Vanessa. Today's lesson was different as we could not hear her usual voice. Instead, she could still give us assignments by writing on the whiteboard. Normally, she would use more of the computer. But today, she used the whiteboard only. Maybe becuz she could not speak. Poor misschia...Hope she gets her voice back soon.

By the way, she is suffering from "laringitis". Isn't it a coincidence? We just did a comprehension on siblingitis and now she has "laringitis". Maybe Miss cHIA Lost her voice due to eating too much keropok or drink too little water...

ROAR!!!!!

Today, I almost burst a blood vessel !!! My sister (the "cute" one) angered me...I assume you do not have a sister like mine. She's worse than a monster. Just because of a tiny matter, she asked for all the things that she had given me. I, in return also asked for the things that I had given her. As I expected, she began rummaging through her drawer and throwing almost everything at me...except one. A book. I asked for it. She refused to hand it over. She demanded $10 ! I was boiling. She then messed up my table and took a bookmark that she had given me last time. That was enough!!!! I released my anger, ROOOOAAAAAARRRR!!! In return, she screamed at me! We started screaming and shouting. Books and stationery were flying everywhere. Even bags were flying. After that, she said," Give me ur correction tape..." I agreed. Then, PEACE. At last. But I was still fuming after looking at the damage she had done to my table. So, when she was out of the room. I wrote some tiny words at the corner of her table and of course, messed up her drawer a little. Really felt like killing her. She might look cute but deep inside...

Vooooocaaab Rec0gnition

THE SUMMARY:
I learnt how to guess the meaning of the words with actually looking into the dictionary. Isn't that GREAT? To guess the meaning, read the sentence. Then underline the words that gives you a clue about the meaning. After that, try to guesssssssssss...Replace it with another word.

FEELINGS:
Actualy, all along, I have been using this skill without my knowing untill Miss Chia told us about this skill. I feel that is skill is extremely really useful! It can help me to understand the passage better as I might not know what some words mean. This skill is very useful in all areas, especialy comprehension.
IMPROVE:
I must read more books and find out the meaning of words that I do not understand. When I am analysing news articles, I must also find out the meaning of the difficult words and write them down into my vocab race book.

BYE!!!

Ugly Beauty Feelings

What are your views on looks?

Personally, honestly, really, I think that looks play an important role in the work industry. But to me, it does not really count. It is the inner self that counts. Maybe, to others, looks is everything. But if one is good-looking but heartless, would you call him/her a handsome/pretty person? At times, I also think that looks are important. But...maybe that person has a kind and honest heart. Who knows?

If you are asked to give some advice to the narrator to make her feel better, what would you say to her?

Narrator, do not listen to what others say about your looks. After all, everybody has his/her own uniqueness, including you. They just don't know how to look at you. As the saying goes, the beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. If you think that you are pretty, then you ARE pretty. So, never take other's words to heart.

Describe your own look.

Aiyo. I sure mati one lah! How to describe? Very pai say if I say that I am handsome, but very funny if I say I ugly...How? Aha!!!! COMPROMISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a pair of...wait, i get my mirror. I have black "smooth" hair, black oval-shaped eyes, pale red lips(according to my dad, when I was young, i had "hot red lips"). Not to forget my cheeky red cheeks. And my SMILE...I can charm you with my smile...just joking. Overall, I look okay. Ok! Bye.................

Anger

When I am angry, I will scold my sister if she pushes me to the limit. If I am really angry, I will even push her or beat her. As you know, sisters can be very irritating. Normally, when my parents are around, I will build up the anger inside me and when I am in her room...KABOOM! I mess up her table andher bed.

Yes, I think that anger is dangerous as it can lead to murder if serious. Anger can even hurt other's feelings and one word...REVENGE! My anger can be described as a cat. I mind my own business, but if I am provoked, I will attack! I will use an ant and a mosquito to describe the two types of anger mentioned in the poem. An ant carries out its won work, but if provoked, like if you step on its nest, it will bite. A mosquito is always ready to suck your blood, whether you provoke it or not.

The first way to manage your anger is to just hold your breath and count to ten. Then, if you must, draw that person and draw awful things on him or her. e.g. a mole? The second way is to go to a trusted person and pour out all the anger in you and tell that someone all the injustice that you suffered. Talk bad things about the person who provoked you if you must...
I won't say these are good ways but...at least it prevents you from killing.

POEM

People's Lives

The tsunami killed many,
Suffering people die quickly.
Under the sea and on land, people die,
Not even babies and toddlers were spared.
And as they seek homes and shelters…
Many others are searching for their loved ones.
In other desperate countries, people yearn for food and money,
So I hope that you will be kind, donate some money and I’ll donate mine…
